"Slywynk's Miss Fiona Kitty"
Born in an Animal Shelter, Adopted at 6 weeks

West Chester, PA  March, 2006
Norwegian Forest Cat

It wasn't long after we acquired Casper that we realized we really needed another cat in the house.  Although Casper seemed perfectly well adjusted to being deaf, we felt he needed a feline companion.

One day we realized it was time so we drove to the West Chester Shelter. There we met several really nice cats but none of them really touched us the way we were hoping. We did notice this tiny fluffy white kitten way up on the top shelf performing all sorts of calisthenics in an attempt to get some attention. We didn't choose to look at her because we weren't we looking for a small kitten.  We wanted a "cat", someone who would otherwise not be adopted so easily.  When we were about to give up, we finally noticed that tiny kitten, still trying to capture our attention, sticking her leg out and waving at us frantically

We asked to have her taken out, if for no other reason than to let her stretch.  We were told she was born there at the shelter and all of her litter mates had been adopted except for her.  We knew she wouldn't have any trouble finding a great home, but as soon as we sat down on the floor with her, she stole our hearts.  So we picked her and she is every bit the companion for Casper that we thought she'd be.  She's a fantastic barn kitty and a terrific mouser.  She's just exactly what is needed around a farm!
